General Terms and Conditions

For participation in Helen Doron English Debrecen courses

Helen Doron English Debrecen (hereafter referred to as the Training Centre) reports to the following companies

Well Done Kft, (Company registration number: 909017759, Tax number: 14946369-2-09. and Sőrés Gabriella e.v. (Tax number: 58047538)

Student: a child between the ages of 0 and 18 years who is participating in education is considered a minor according to § 2:10 of the 2013 V. tv.

Legal Representative: the parent who has parental authority over the Student or, in the absence of such authority, the guardian of the Student.

Course: an extracurricular English course organised and delivered according to Helen Doron English know-how, which Helen Doron English Debrecen undertakes to organise and deliver during a given academic year.

Academic Year: the period during which English language teaching is organised and delivered, which normally begins in September of a calendar year (starting day) and ends in June of the following calendar year (ending day). An Academic Year is divided into an Autumn and a Spring semester

Contract: a contract concluded between the Legal Representative and the Education Centre in accordance with the provisions of these Terms and Conditions, whereby the Education Centre provides the Student with training in a selected Course, while the Legal Representative pays a fee to the Education Centre for the organisation and running of the Course and for the Student's participation in the Course.

Tuition Fee: the fee payable to the Learning Centre for participation in a Course for a given Academic Year.

Introductory provisions: The student becomes a student of Helen Doron English Debrecen Training Centre if his/her Legal Representative returns the electronic enrolment form to the Language School by electronic means, duly certified. By completing the Enrolment Form, the Legal Representative accepts and acknowledges that the completion of the Enrolment Form shall create a payment obligation for him/her. Before sending the enrolment form, the Legal Representative must read the provisions of these GTC, which include, inter alia, the Privacy Policy, and declare his/her acceptance of the same in the appropriate place on the enrolment form. The enrolment form must be filled in online at www.angoldebrecen.hu, sent, the full fee for the Academic Year or the first instalment of the Academic Year divided into 10 instalments and the fee for the Curriculum Package must be paid at the same time in order to be able to participate in the course.

Enrolment: completion of the online enrolment documentation, submission of signed copies of the declaration at Hadházi út 19, simultaneous payment of the tuition fee and textbook package is required in order for the child to attend the course. 

Provision of teaching materials and courses: the Language School provides children with a special teaching materials package using the Helen Doron English method, which includes a textbook, workbook, audio material, stories - together referred to as a 'teaching materials package' or 'package' - and online access to these, depending on the course, and personalised teaching for the learner. 

The learning package is a compulsory element of the Helen Doron course and its purchase is a condition of starting and continuing the course - all elements are protected and any copying, transfer or sharing of them, in whole or in part, is prohibited and will result in criminal prosecution. The fee for each course package is a one-off charge, which provides the student with the knowledge necessary to complete the course for the full duration of the course. In the event of the loss of all or part of the package, the Language School does not provide free replacements, but replacements can be made for a fee. Parents must ensure that the student has the opportunity to listen passively to the current audio material twice a day during the course, as daily listening is an important part of the method. Translating all or part of the course material into English is not part of the method and is not allowed either in class or at home.

Duration of the school year: 10 months, excluding winter and summer school holidays. 

There are 40 lessons per school year, which means an average of 4 sessions per month. Classes are 1x45, -60, -90 minutes or 2x45, -60, 90 minutes.

Course duration. Courses are organised in accordance with the school's teaching timetable and taking account of public holidays, in accordance with the School's timetable for the academic year, which is issued by the school before the start of the academic year.

Course location: the courses will be held at the following address: 4028 Debrecen Hadházi 19. / 4026 Debrecen Darabos 33. nr., in justified cases online. During the course, the location of the course may change in justified cases, and the head of the language school will inform the student's legal representative. The change of location is not based on the All conditions are compulsory for both face-to-face and online classes. In the event of an emergency or health emergency, the Learning Centre will continue the course online and will inform the Student and his/her Legal Representative in due time and with the utmost care. The Centre reserves the right to decide to switch to online classes at its discretion, even before the official declaration of an emergency.

Absence management: parents agree to bring their child to every class. The school provides the possibility to make up the missed lessons on www.angoldebrecen.hu. In case of absence of the teacher, the Language School will arrange for a substitute teacher or, if this is not possible, a substitute lesson will be held at a date agreed with the teacher. In case of illness, it is possible to make up the lessons paid for by the end of June of the same school year, subject to payment of the current tuition fee. No make-ups are possible during the last week of the school year.

Substitution policy: in all cases, prior arrangement with the teacher is required for participation in the make-up lesson. If this is not possible, parents must notify the teacher by text message or e-mail before the lesson that they will be absent. If the parent fails to indicate before the lesson that they will not be able to attend, the lesson will be considered overdue and they will not be able to make up the lesson. It is the responsibility of the parent to make up the missed lessons, and if they are unable to do so, they acknowledge that the School will not be able to refund or credit the fees paid for the missed lessons, either in whole or in part. Failure to attend a class does not release you from the obligation to pay the course fee. If the duration of the absence exceeds the time allowed for the child to continue the course with the group he/she has started, prior agreement with the Head of the Language School is required before the course can be continued. In this case, the language teacher may assign the student to another group appropriate to his/her level. Group places are not automatically guaranteed, but are subject to the payment of the tuition fee and the textbook package by the 15th of each month and, in the case of older students, to enrol at the beginning of the academic year, at the latest by the end of each course.

I acknowledge that if the number of students in our group falls below 4, the Language School has the right to merge or close the group.

Early termination of the course - termination As a Parent, I accept and declare that if my child stops the course for any reason and I do not inform the Language School in time (30 calendar days before the scheduled termination date), causing damage to the Language School, I will pay the next monthly fee invoice. The Language School Manager will be informed by e-mail to helendoron@angoldebrecen.hu or other written form signed by the Parent. In the case of payment of the annual and semester fees, the parent may withdraw from the general terms and conditions, but the termination of the course must be by mutual agreement, acknowledging the 30-day notice period and agreeing to receive a refund of the remaining tuition fees for the remainder of the school year, less 30% (including taxes and contributions paid).

Course fees: during the academic year, the Language School offers 40 lessons per week for one English lesson and 80 lessons per week for two lessons. A

The course fees can be paid in monthly instalments, half-yearly or in one lump sum at the beginning of the year.

- Monthly instalments: current for 10 months from September to June, until the 15th of each month.

- Semester payment deadlines: in 2 instalments, in semester I by 16 September of the academic year, in semester II by 17 February of the academic year.

- Annual single tuition fee payment deadline: 30 September of the academic year.

How to pay: the tuition fee can be paid in cash or by bank transfer by the 15th of each month.

- In cash or by credit card at the Education Centre: 4028 Debrecen, Hadházi út 19, opening hours. during opening hours.

- Invoices, without a company contract, are issued to individuals only.

Course packs: part of the course fee and can be purchased at the Language School.

Payment for the textbook packages can be made in cash or by bank transfer, in up to 2 instalments / 50-50% per payment in advance, according to the following deadlines:

- 1st instalment: 15 October of the school year

 - 2nd instalment: on receipt of the course material, the timing and actuality of which will be determined by the course progression plan and the Language School.

 Textbooks can be collected after full payment of the fee.

 For new enrolments for the academic year, the fee for the first course is 100% current at the time of enrolment, the fee for the next course is 100% current at the time of enrolment. for the next year: 15 March of the academic year.

 In the event of termination or cancellation of a course, the advance payment of the textbook not yet taken over will be deducted by the Language School from the final monthly tuition fee, provided that the parent has respected the cancellation deadline and the payment obligations. In the event of non-compliance with the cancellation conditions, the Language School is not obliged to refund the advance payment of the textbook. The Language School will repurchase the textbook package paid for and received, provided that its manager is satisfied that the textbooks purchased are intact. The Language School is not obliged to buy back the textbooks at the selling price.

Late payment. Late payment of more than 30 days will result in the withdrawal of the discount, and late payment of more than 60 days will result in the charging of interest on arrears, calculated at the base rate set by the Magyar Nemzeti Bank. As our classes are group classes - the teacher always prepares for the maximum number of students in a given group - monthly fees cannot be refunded or partially paid. Tuition fees are payable throughout the school year, if this is not done, the child will not be allowed to attend classes and future attendance will be possible only on payment of the balance due.

House Rules:

Children should always bring the current textbook with them.- Please do not use mobile phones in class and keep them on silent or use them in the corridor or waiting room, preferably briefly.- Please avoid "non-study related talk", as this distracts children from concentrating and the teacher from teaching.- Please do not use the words you have learned in class. - No food, drink or toys are allowed in class and only if the teacher allows it, which must be agreed in advance - During the lesson, the teacher is responsible for the smooth running of the lesson - If their child is disrupting the lesson, parents are asked to take their child outside - Parental participation in the lesson is allowed up to a maximum of 3 years of age and/or, in the case of enrolment after the age of 3, up to the first lesson 4, in order to ensure the proper development of the children

The teacher is responsible for the physical safety of the children in the classroom and on the premises. Parents are responsible for the physical safety and behaviour of their children in other areas of the school. In the corridors, play areas, gardens and waiting rooms, parents must not leave their pre-school child unattended. 

The Language School is for the benefit and learning of children, so classrooms and waiting rooms have limited capacity for adults. In order to ensure optimal daily operation and smooth running of the sessions, 1 adult per child should accompany the child to the session. Any complaints or conflicts should be resolved jointly by the teacher, the parent and the head of the language school. If the complaint cannot be resolved on the spot, parents can contact the Helen Doron Budapest Centre (hungary@helendoron.com, http://www.helendoron.hu) or the competent authorities.

Governing law:

In matters not covered by these terms and conditions, the Civil Code of Civil Procedure shall govern the contract between the Language School and the legal representative of the student for the language course. In the event of a dispute, the Hungarian law in force shall prevail, the jurisdiction of the court of the Language School's place of instruction being determined.

Completeness: 

All other prior information contrary to these Terms and Conditions shall be deemed to be waived upon acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. The Student's Legal Representative accepts or acknowledges acceptance of these Terms and Conditions by completing and submitting the electronic enrolment form.

Effective date:

These General Terms and Conditions are effective from 1 July 2023. Any previous provisions contrary to these Terms and Conditions shall cease to apply.

Clause:

The present fixed-term contract shall become a contract for an indefinite period of time upon acceptance of the next year's course fee signed by the student's legal representative and payment of the first monthly fee. In this case, the provisions of this contract shall also apply. The notice period is 30 days and the Parent agrees to pay the tuition fee for the notice period. Parent I declare that I am obliged to notify the Language School in writing 30 days before the beginning of each school year (by 1 August of each year) if I terminate my contract with the Language School. In the event that you fail to do so, you will be liable to pay the first month's fees.
